Mulberry and Port Wine Jam

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups fresh mulberries

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

  • 1/2 cup port wine

Instructions:

  1. Rinse and remove the stems from the mulberries.

  2. In a saucepan, combine mulberries, sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest.

  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until the mixture reaches a boil.

  4. Add port wine and continue to simmer for an additional 15-20 minutes until the jam thickens, stirring occasionally.

  5. Remove from heat, let it cool for a few minutes, and then transfer to sterilized jars.
